Unified IAM and employee data hub across multi-platform enterprise systems
Overview
Architected and developed a microservices-based API infrastructure supporting multi-platform deployments, featuring a secure Role-Based Access Control system and a centralized employee data hub shared across multiple internal platforms.
The company had 7 internal applications each managing their own user roles and employee data. Permission inconsistencies, data duplication, and the inability to audit access across systems were major compliance and security risks.
Designed a dedicated IAM microservice handling authentication, authorization, and role management using JWT with refresh token rotation. Built an HRIS core service as the single source of truth for employee data, with gRPC internal communication and event sourcing for audit trails.
Consolidated identity management across all 7 platforms. Onboarding new employees now propagates to all systems in under 3 seconds vs. the previous manual 2-day process.
